4) Development of micro-arrays for genetic analyses

We are developers of micro-arrays for genetic analyses, based on the Arrayed Primer EXtension (APEX) tecnhique.

The technique allows the genotyping of single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), small insertion/deletions as well as rare mutations, in parallel on the same DNA sample following parallel PCR amplifications.

See the animation for a schematic overview of APEX

We collaborated with Asper Biotech (Tartu, Estonia), that prints the slides for us. Our developed arrays are now part of their product portfolio.

1) A micro-array for testing SNPs within the DNA repair and Genome stability genes (see publications)

2) A micro-array for detecting common mutations responsible for β-thalassemia (see pubblication)

3) A micro-array for detecting fungal species of importance for human health (patented and published)

4) A micro-array for detecting human papilloma virus (HPV) types (see publications)
